A Lotus, a Butterfly and You

A butterfly is one of my favourite symbols of transformation. Butterflies are light, playful; they move with ease. But they didn't always.

Once, a butterfly was a caterpillar. It moved slowly and carefully. It wasn't born with it's natural grace. It had to grow into it.

While wrapped in it's cocoon to transform, a caterpillar literally turns to mush. If you were to break the little coccon open, you would be met with only goo. You wouldn't see traces of legs and a tiny caterpillar, and you also wouldn't see delicate wings ready to soar. You could easily completely miss the beauty of where it started, and dismiss its infinite potential.

I share this because many women have never been treated or seen for their incredible and innate potential, especially when it comes to the birthing room.

As a society, we have placed fear, doubt and medical procedure after medical procedure into an experience that should feel divine, sacred and powerful.

Pregnancy should be a time when we are wrapped in safety and allowed to do personal spiritual work to prepare for a baby at a soul level.

This is not the standard of care that every women gets, but since you are here, it is a right that you will not give up.

Spiritual work sometimes feels like turning into goo, we have to do this very scary thing, which is admitting to and allowing our deepest fears to bubble to the surface. Experiencing the reality of these emotions can be a very vulnerable experience, but you will move through them into the freedom on the other side.

My friend, let me remind you that the butterfly could never fly if it didn't first turn to goo.

This week, I am asking you to do something very emotional and do very deep healing and re-patterning work. I am here to hold your hand. I know your worth. I know your potential. And so do you.

You deserve a pregnancy that is sacred, and to have that you have to get all of the negative messages that are sent about pregnancy, and the lack of power women hold, out of you.

You have to let go of any beliefs you have about not being able to birth a baby, not having the support you need and not feeling connected at every turn.

These have to get out of you!

Today we will begin taking a look at some of the deepest fears you hold, and the limiting lies you tell yourself that prevent you from being in alignment with your ideal pregnancy.

Then I will teach you how to change these into stories that are not only true, but that also help you have the experience you desire.

Your lesson today is an audio lesson. Make sure you have your journal in hand as you will need it for the exercise in this recording.

"When avoidance of pain becomes the major emphasis of childbirth care, the paradoxical effect is that more women have to deal with pain after their babies are born." - Ina May Gaskin, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
